Our understanding of dinosaurs has undergone a revolution in the past few decades. From feathered dinosaurs that took to the air, to semi-aquatic dinosaurs larger than the famous Tyrannosaurus rex, dinosaurs are among the most bizarre, unique and unforgettable of the vertebrates. Hundreds of millions of years shaped their evolution, as did the world around them. In this course, we will explore everything dinosaur--from their anatomy to their taxonomy, their evolutionary success to their eventual extinction, and their role in capturing the imaginations and hearts of millions of people around the world.
